20Th Brigade Reunion
2006
Asheville, NC
Thank you to the Peek family for hosting the 2006 reunion.
Thank you to Linda & Monty Odom for making it all possible in the first place.
The 20th Engineer Brigade of 2006 has come and gone already and what a blast, first off, for those
of us who haven't retired yet it's time away from the job, and second, meeting friends you haven't
seen for 35 years is out of sight.
About 100 veterans and many of their wives attended this year, there were many others who
wanted to attend but were unable to get a room in Asheville due to our convention and a big music
fest going on in the area at the same time.
Asheville has many other attractions also but they were cast aside as friends reunited after a long
separation of time from their service days. The reunion started with a sign in and getting settled in
our rooms, there is always a reception room and it is there where the fun begins, 1st came the hugs
and hand shakes as members and their wives met other members families. Out came the photo
albums, stories, newspaper articles, and the funny part is that some of the wives have heard the
individual stories from their husbands, and you know the kind of funny looks they give us when we
told them the stories over the years, well, someone would say a word or two about an incident and
the others would just fall in and finish the story, just like it was yesterday. I guess our memories are
not as bad as the wives think.

In the following pages we will try to show what the reunion meant to those of us who were there,
allot of pictures were taken of individuals and group shots, if you can supply captions or names for
the photo's please send them in, and if you see that we got something wrong, please let us know. If
you have a picture you want posted, send that in also and we will do our best to get in listed.
And then it's all over, Sunday is check-out day and the crew has one more get together for pictures,
a lot of friendship were made and some took up where they left off 35 years ago, with plans to meet
again in a year.In the back, left to right- Benny Wilhelm holding his wife Linda, Ralph Sharper, Andy
Mullis and his wife Pam, Ralph Keiper and Sherry, John Groh and Dwayne Sharper. Hopefully, next
year this group will grow
.
